Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with New Age IT — our plans, devices, billing, and more.

Plans & Pricing

What does the monthly device rate include?

Each covered device includes unlimited remote & on-site support, proactive monitoring, patch management, and help desk response. Your plan's included labor hours are a shared pool — they apply across all your devices, not per-device.

What counts as a "device"?

Desktops, laptops, servers, and workstations. Managed network equipment (firewalls, switches, access points) can also be included — ask us about your specific setup. Phones and tablets are generally not counted unless specifically agreed upon.

Can I mix PC and Mac devices?

Yes. Your monthly total is the sum of each device type at its rate — PC devices billed at PC rates, Mac devices at Mac rates. We handle mixed environments regularly.

Can I add or remove devices during my contract?

Devices can be added at any time, prorated to the month. Removing devices mid-term may be subject to your minimum commitment. Reach out and we'll find an arrangement that makes sense.

Is there a minimum contract length?

Managed plans are 6-month or 12-month commitments billed monthly. Paying in full upfront is also an option if you prefer. Pay-As-You-Go has no commitment — you're billed only for the hours you use.

What's the difference between 6-month and 12-month?

A 12-month plan saves $200/device per month versus 6-month — and has a lower overage rate ($100/hr vs. $125/hr). If you're confident in a longer commitment, the 12-month plan is almost always the better deal.

Hours & Billing

How do rollover hours work?

Every month your plan includes free labor hours (typically 3 hrs/device). Any hours you don't use roll into a bank you can draw from in future months. The bank caps at your contract term length (e.g., 36 hrs on a 12-month plan). Banked hours are consumed before overage rates apply.

What happens when I go over my included hours?

We draw from your rollover bank first. Once empty, additional labor is billed at your plan's overage rate — $100/hr (12-month) or $125/hr (6-month). We'll always communicate before any significant billable work.

What's not included in the monthly rate?

Hardware purchases, third-party software licenses, and labor beyond your included hours. We'll quote any of these separately before proceeding.

Apple Mac Support

Why does Mac support cost more than PC?

Apple's repair ecosystem is closed — genuine parts and certified repair access require more investment than the open Windows ecosystem. Managing Macs in a business environment (MDM, Apple Business Manager, cross-platform file sharing) also requires specialized tooling and expertise that PC environments don't need.

What's included in the Mac Support Only plan?

Full remote and on-site Mac support — same coverage as our PC plan. Hardware sourcing and repair costs are billed separately when needed.

What does the Mac Support + Replacement plan add?

A replacement reserve and full coordination when a Mac reaches end-of-life or fails. We handle sourcing and setup. No install fee, and it does not draw from your rollover hour bank.

Onboarding & Setup

What does onboarding look like?

Once your contract is signed, we schedule an onboarding session to inventory every device, install our monitoring agent, configure backups, and document your network. Onboarding is included at no extra charge for new managed clients.

Do you cover devices that are already broken?

All devices get onboarded regardless of condition — we document your full inventory so nothing falls through the cracks. Non-functional devices are billed at the device rate as part of your plan. Labor to diagnose or repair them is billed at your plan's hourly rate.

Is there a setup or onboarding fee?

No onboarding fee for new managed clients. Device replacements coordinated by us also have no install fee and don't draw from your rollover bank.

What area do you serve?

We're based in Tonganoxie, Kansas and primarily serve the greater Kansas City metro including Leavenworth, Lawrence, Kansas City KS, Kansas City MO, Topeka, Basehor, and Bonner Springs. Remote support is available anywhere.

On-site visits within our primary service area are included in your managed plan at no extra charge. Travel outside our primary area may include a trip fee — we'll let you know upfront.
